Plaudits for Ara Sarafian

Published: Saturday July 25, 2009

Sir:

I applaud Ara Sarafian for his courage and continual effort toherald the dignity of truth through his publications about the ArmenianGenocide. What a gift Sarafian has given the Armenian and Turkish communitiesin publishing the Blue Book inTurkish ("In Ankara ‘Blue Book' launch, Genocide denial is challenged," July4.) Now Turks can read in their own language the factual history about whattranspired in 1915 and not the tampered-with history being rewritten in Turkey.

I read some of that Turkish history in a small museum in Igdir,Turkey, close to the Armenian border. The museum, part of a monument dedicatedto Turks killed by Armenians, contained several books written in English. As Iread a statement in the first pamphlet I picked up, I was stunned at the depthof falsehood as the author stated, "Those Armenians who were deported weregiven homes comparable to the ones they left behind."

It is inevitable. Truth will prevail. Keep up the good work, Mr.Sarafian!

Very truly yours,
Kay Mouradian
